Busch’s Fresh Food Market Helps Fight Hunger During the Holidays

Ann Arbor, Mich., November 11, 2021 – Busch’s Fresh Food Market will host its 14th annual Season of Sharing food drive beginning Monday, November 15 and continuing through November 28, to help those in need during the holidays. The proceeds will go to local food banks and rescue agencies in the communities of all Busch’s locations.

Donations will be accepted at all Busch’s locations in southeast Michigan from Monday, November 15, through Sunday, November 28, during normal business hours. The community will have several ways to get involved during the food drive, including purchasing a pre-made “Ready to Go” donation bag with 16 items for a family in need, making a donation at a Busch’s checkout register, purchasing gift cards, and donating bottle return slips.

Busch’s Fresh Food Market Community Director, Doug Busch, spoke enthusiastically about the partnership with the communities we serve. “Busch’s is your local supermarket helping those in need in our community. Working together we can all make a difference and, with Season of Sharing, we do.”

Season of Sharing supplements how Busch’s Fresh Food Market works together with local charities year-round to fight hunger in metro Detroit. Busch’s provides approximately 1 million pounds of fresh food and dairy each year to Forgotten Harvest, Food Gatherers, and other local groups to help eliminate food waste and feed food-insecure families in our local communities. Each morning the Busch’s team at each of our stores sets aside food that may not be picture-perfect, yet is still nutritious and healthy, for donation to food banks. Our partners then take this food and distribute it to people in need around our local areas.
