Busch’s Fresh Food Market – April 10, 2020 Update
As we work through this Coronavirus Emergency we remain committed to providing our Guests with the products they need in an environment that is as safe and secure as we can make it. We have continued to work closely with local health departments and follow the guidelines from the State of Michigan and the CDC. Some of the updates and changes we have made include the following:
Following Executive Order 2020-42 (COVID-19)
In order to meet the social distancing requirements of Executive Order 2020-42 (COVID-19) Busch’s is limiting the number of Guests in our stores to 25% of the Fire Marshall occupancy numbers. To do so we will track the number of Guests coming in and out of our stores and, if we get to the maximum numbers, we will ask Guests to wait outside in dedicated areas until others leave. To help us keep track of Guests we will only have one entry/exit area and close other doors. We ask that our Guests be patient as we work through these new requirements and know that we will do our best to maintain a positive shopping experience.
Enhancing the Safety of Our Associates:
Now that the CDC has recommended the use of masks we have purchased a large quantity so we can provide them to all of our Associates. Until these masks arrive, we are providing handmade masks that we have purchased locally and/or have been donated by the community. We have installed protective shields for our Associates who are working check-out and have allowed many to work during non-business hours when possible. We also ask that Guests who are in our stores wear masks in accordance with the new CDC guidelines.
Enhanced Cleaning
We have contracted additional full-time cleaning crews to go through the store throughout the day and clean everything from carts to door handles and commonly touched surfaces. We also encourage Guests to bring their own wipes or other sanitizing supplies that they would like to use for additional safety.
Social Distancing
We encourage our Guests to continue to maintain good social distancing practices throughout our stores and to maintain 6-feet of separation between themselves and other people. We have markings on the floors and signs in our stores to help remind people about social distancing best practices. We also ask that only one person do the shopping if at all possible.
Online Shopping
We are working hard to add to our online team to help us do shopping for people who no longer feel safe being in a store. Our online shopping has increased by over 10X which has resulted in much longer wait times to fulfill orders than we would prefer. Many key items are still in short supply and we will make an effort to find a similar item for you, if at all possible, if you tell us you will accept a substitution. If you do not want a substitution for a particular item, or any items, please state so when you place your order.
Hours of Operation
We will continue to be open from 8:00 AM through 8:00 PM, seven days a week. However, we will be closed on Easter Sunday (April 12) in order to give our Associates a much needed break.
Working Together
Since 1975 we have been a part of your local community and we are very appreciative of all of the wonderful support we have received as we face this Pandemic together. The support of our Guests, and hearing that we are making a difference, is something that helps our Associates make it through each and every difficult day. Thank you for being a part of our family and know that, together, we will get through this.
